The Process

Fusion Source Design specializes in the art of innovative website design. We develop a visual theme to involve and guide the web visitor. Generally speaking, our approach divides the project into 5 main phases, which we outline below:

• Strategy & Information Design

  Our process first starts with Strategy & Information Design. The purpose of this step is to identify what content the website should contain. We seek to understand you and your end-users objectives so that we can develop a tool that benefits all users. We ask and actively listen to what you envision the website being and ultimately what it will achieve.

  Once we know the purpose and goals of the website, we then focus on Information Design. During this step we structure the content in a logical and easy-to-access fashion. Easy, intuitive navigation and quick access to specific information or tools are essential qualities for a successful website. No matter how vital your information is, if users cannot find it, they probably will not be coming back. Our Web Producers establish the intelligence of your site's structure by analyzing and organizing your content, and mapping it to enhance your site's key messages and functionality.

• Design Development

  Next, we proceed with the Design Development phase. This entails graphics, typography, layout, and user interface issues. A user's first impression of how good your website is, is usually based on how it looks. Of course it is the depth and relevance of your content that will keep people coming back to your site, but do not underestimate the power of great design. During this Design Development phase we will give you at least 3 design alternatives from which to choose. We call these design alternatives, "comps." Once you choose one of the comps we then refine that design and build it into real working HTML pages for you to preview.

• Technical Development

  Once you are satisfied with the selected design, we begin the process of producing the website. This is where we take the selected design and begin the task of building the pages, integrating the graphics, technology and content.

  Writing for the Internet requires both creative and technical skills. Strong Editorial Support often means the difference between a clunky website inundated with HTML and a sharp site that speaks smoothly and intelligently. Our Web Producers help analyze your content. We can create original material or "massage" your information to make it interactive and Web-ready. Either way, our Web-team captures the essence of your messages with effective, engaging communications that are finely tuned to the unique advantages of the Web.

• Implementation

  After the website has been built, tested and previewed on our Internet server, we work with you to ensure a smooth hand-off to your production Web Server. Because the Internet is a constantly evolving medium, and because your "business" is changing and responding to your end-users needs, we anticipate the need for new features and pages and provide you with a flexible layout and file management scheme. We'll ensure that the maintenance of the site is manageable and dovetails neatly with your existing resources.

  After your website has been successfully "launched" we will register your website with approximately 30 of the largest Internet Search Engines and Directories. This will increase the chances of potential customers finding your website.

• Site Management

  Understanding that the web is a medium which can and should change often, we provide monthly maintenance agreements to keep your site's content fresh, accurate and compelling. We update and add graphics, technologies and features as needed. We even provide 24 hour monitoring to assure that the servers are running smoothly and efficiently.
