Reporting Activity

Once You Have an IP Address

Before reporting abuse to any ISP, it is necessary to have the IP address of the attacker. Consult your documentation to find out where this information can be found.

Once the attacker's IP address is obtained, a report should be sent to the owner of the IP address. To determine who owns an IP address, use the following web sites:

For American addresses, use ARIN (American Registry of Internet Numbers) at:
http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html

For European addresses, use RIPE at:
http://www.ripe.net/cgi-bin/whois

For Asia-Pacific addresses, use APNIC at:
http://www.apnic.net/

Do you have more questions about PC protection? Let us know and we would be happy to help.
