Once You Have an
IP Address
Before reporting abuse to
any ISP, it is necessary to have the IP address of the attacker. Consult your documentation to find out where this information can be found.
Once the attacker's IP address is obtained, a report should be sent to the owner of the IP address. To determine who owns an IP address, use the following web sites:
For American addresses, use ARIN (American Registry of Internet Numbers) at:
http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html
For European addresses, use RIPE at:
http://www.ripe.net/cgi-bin/whois
For Asia-Pacific addresses, use APNIC at:
http://www.apnic.net/
